16. DeSantis will spin it his way

In his upcoming book, I can almost guarantee you that DeSantis will outright lie. He'll merely say that not only did his policies lead to more "freedom," but they also resulted in lower fatality numbers. There is no cost for blatantly lying and his adherents will proudly tout the lie as absolute truth. They'll all say that the vaccines did nothing, masking did nothing, and school closures did nothing and that the proof is in the pudding: the lowest number of COVID-19 fatalities in the country -- maybe even in the world. DeSantis will be the perfect candidate for a post-truth America.
