Going to be a hell of a fight, the Russians have built extensive defense works.

Attacking a well defended position usually costs 2-3:1 casualties...

If the Russians follow tradition... and defensive combat history... they will seek to surround the Ukrainian forces in a pocket and counter attack.

But do the Russians have the leadership and initiative thatt hey did in WW2???

We'll see...

Also, sources I read say that the Russian Air Force has been particularly active the last 2 weeks and may be heavily involved in defensive action.
