18. order the fries as "fry well"

sometimes (if the teenager cooking the fries doesn't know what they are doing) you get a bunch of potato sticks that you could use to build "Lincoln Log" houses from. Most of the time you get properly cooked fries, neither limp nor break your teeth hard.

I have a friend who orders "fry lite"... which is where they cut the potatoes and show them the deep fat fryer just to scare them a little bit.

BTW, can you imagine running the potato cutting machine all day? that job looks mind numbing... and deserves way better than minimum wage. But their biceps get a work out.
