(3,538 posts)65. My dad thought it was important to teach me survival skills.
I was raised around guns. Hunting, fishing, and camping were normal parts of life. I never enjoyed killing things so as soon as I was old enough to say no, I did.
I did gain skills, confidence, and problem-solving abilities but it just wasn't for me.

I have... as a pre-teen but became uncomfortable with it quickly and have no interest now.

I don't hunt, but because the eco system is off balance, hunting is needed to keep some populations in check.
