In order to appeal, Trump must provide cash or secure assets to get the equivalent in a bond.

The amount is $83.3 mil plus interest projected to accrue over the appeal.
For the first $5 mil in damages in the prior case, that was 12% interest.
So 83.3 x 1.12 = $93.3 mil
I also think he's going to have to pay a hunk of EJ Carroll's legal costs.
Trump already had $5.6 mil in the courts for the appeal of the first case.

So Trump is effectively without $93.3 + 5.6 mil = $98.9 million until the appeals are decided.
Trump will only get all his money back if he totally wins both appeals which is very unlikely because he's lost two appeals already and Habba did not object to evidence entered or stuff that went on very often. So Habba waived a bunch of appealable things already.

Within 30 days, Trump has to pay EJ Carroll or put up this money for an appeal.
He will be out of pocket until these appeals are decided.
And very likely to be out of pocket forever.

EJ Carroll could sell her judgement and get some cash right away if she wanted.

This decision hurt Trump but it is relatively small compared to what AG James is going to get from him.
