It's deep and structural.
Read (or re-read) Ronan Farrow's "Catch and Kill" with particular attention to the NBCUniversal/NBCNews/MSNBC execs and on-air personnel. They are just as shitty as every other company/network. Some people don't see it because they are distracted by the gratification of often being told things they wish to hear.
