He contacted Don Shula, a HOF coach and one if the best in the game at the time. He offered him way over what the Miami Dolphins was paying him to coach the New Jersey Generals.

Shula was quite interested and told trump he would get back with him after talking to his attorney. After the consultation with his attorney, Shula turned the offer down. The orange malignancy's reputation was probably well known, even back then, in some circles.
