Of course the US and taxes are anything but logical. I wish I could afford tRump's accountant and then I would never owe anybody any money, ever and I'd get off scott free of caught.

Worst case and assuming you've paid most/all taxes due, file an extension to sort it out.

If you don't traditionally owe and you know what forms you need, it shouldn't be too hard

I tried that mentioned tax service. It cost me almost a year and a half and $1600 for a real accountant to fix.

It might only cost $100 more to use a real accountant. They'll file for an extension and give an est of payment due.

The IRS volunteers are likely overworked. I'm sure they're good, if you have minimal deductions.
