(60,851 posts)I support Joe Biden because I think he is the one who can beat Trump.
And I believe Harris can do the job if it comes to that.
So it seems the most simple and workable plan.
That said, I can be for Biden, but still listen to other opinions, facts and points of view.
And not get ugly about it.
Becoming an ugly echo chamber can lose this election:
1. I recognize Democrats are scared and all over the map.
But I don't call them names, belittle and threaten them.
It is foolish to call other members of our party names.
We need all hands on deck to win this election.
It is better to listen to the fear, their reasoning, and explain yours.
These are our fellow Democrats, why alienate them and treat them badly?
We are better than this. At least I hope so.
2. We are at war to save our democracy.
One of the worse things you can do during wartime is become an echo chamber
and not listen to the reality of what is going on. This is how Hitler lost the war.
He only believed the stories in his head. His own echo chamber. We know how that
story ended.
3. The supreme irony is that Joe Biden is the consummate team player and coalition builder.
He is a gentleman, respectful, and kind. He wins elections by working hard and doing the right thing.
But his supporters are resorting to smash mouth ugly tactics. I agree we need to play hard ball.
Save that for fighting Putin and the GOP. Not against our own team.
