that's not a pledge. This Super Pac has to operate entirely on its own--have it's own structure, accounting, etc. In addition, it cannot collude with the trump campaign.

Also I think Musk is setting it up to get other tech companies to throw in to reach the $45 million he's talking about each month. Other tech companies may or may not go along with him. I don't believe this is Musk actually digging into his own pocket to give trump $45 million a month.
