When I ask myself if there's historical precedent for electing divisive jackasses of various stripes, I see a long tradition going back to the early days of the nation. The history of parties that lose their nominees after the primary election? I don't recall them having much success, but it's pretty rare anyway so perhaps it's not always a big deal. Anyway, I wouldn't bet the farm on a blowout for our side.

Shout out to POTUS Biden though, I'm with you on that.
