I live in Southwestern PA and it is poor. area. But the Mountains do not go through the area. I wish he would stop

Agree. I went to college at PennState in central PA Those people in the surrounding areas could be called Appalachian

Southeastern Ohio is in the Appalachian foothills and it is considered a part of Appalachia.
