That little girl is a keeper! Shirley Chisholm ran for president in 1972. I was so excited about her run, and when we had a mock election I wrote her name in on the ballot. I was teased about it by my classmates, but my teacher was cool about it. He proceeded to talk about how important it was that everyone is able to vote for their choice. I have been waiting since 1972 for a woman to be president. I'm happy that these little girls won't have to wait as long as I have. Thank you so much for this post! It made my day, too!
