He is mentally ill, and also has dementia.

There was a recent assassination attempt.

He has been blindsided by Kamala taking over as candidate and pulling ahead of him.

Vance has humiliated him.

I wonder if his campaign staff have given up, are not being paid, not sure what is going on.

He has taken over the RNC so there is no help there either.

But yes the faltering adulation from his cult has to be bothering him too.
