The considerations I'm talking about are much more expansive. But, there it is. I'm 79 years old. I'm not going to see what happens.

I started thinking about all of this decades ago, and made a number of decisions along the way, based on what I saw.
I'm not minimizing or trivializing at all. I'm suggesting the people might need to make personal changes to survive it all. Nothing trivial about that in any way.

Do I wish there was some sure way to fix the situation? Of course I do. If you know of such a solution, please lay it out for us.
