I live in Texas and the heat in the summer is unbearable. I was born and raised in Louisiana and said I would never move to Texas, yet here I am.

Between the politics and the heat, I just cannot take it anymore. I'm thinking of heading to Vermont. I've lived in the south all my life and I want to experience the four seasons in a year--not in a day, which can happen on a dime here. I write and want to spend more time doing that in an environment I enjoy and it's
not Texas.

My oldest daughter lives in New Jersey, so there is that too. Being closer to my kids, especially since I'm retired and have nothing holding me here, I'm making plans and doing some research.

Yeah, life's too short now, especially now.
