And even when they win sometimes. Been that way since FDR. Otherwise we might become socialisms or something. Same old, same old. It's not just the party elite, however. You can see it on this very site, when AIPAC defeats a progressive or DSAer, there is much rejoicing.
"We need to work together with our FRIENDS across the aisle to find bipartisan solutions...." Notice how Republicans never say that.
Perhaps the question going forward, if indeed a future is allowed, is "Can a party that stands for just about everything stand for anything?"
