Colorado is a nominally "blue" state...I am stuck in deep red East Kansas...err, Misery...um,...Missouri.
But what you describe on the roads around Denver feels pretty much like the roads around the St. Louis area too...

We have a schism in this country between not red and blue though, more and more I feel its between sane and lunatics.
