4. Yeah - that anesthesiologist thing is crap. I've gotten caught with it.

I did get out of paying the out-of-network bill because it was emergency surgery (appendectomy when I was 5 months pregnant) and the closest in-network anesthesiologist was more than 50 miles away.

But it took some arguing.

I always tell people to check about anesthesiology before consenting to non-emergency surgery - since so many are out-of-network.
