And that reminds me of the Bible story of Lazarus.
The bible story is the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, found in Luke 16:19-31. It features a poor beggar named Lazarus who lay at a rich man's gate, full of sores, and longed to eat the scraps of food that fell from the rich man's table. The dogs would even come and lick his open sores.
