I do this with all the sports I tend to watch. Whether it’s football or baseball, which you have to pay to view which I’m not going to do. I didn’t even know baseball had switched to all pay to view.
But the worst offenders are Figure Skating. When you’re trying to watch the performance and listening to the music to judge the performance for yourself. However, starting with Dick Button, Tara Lipensky and Johnny Weir they never shut up. I mute them because it’s non stop talk. On rare occasions I can find a YouTube feed where there are no talking heads, and every skater gets to perform. Back when I first started watching I played my own music which turned out really good.
Here’s a rundown of pay to view sports that I’m aware of
Figure Skating (broadcast tv will show extremely limited viewing and mostly US skaters)
Baseball
Football (broadcast tv will show a few games per week but not as many as they used to)
Not sure about other sports.
But my question is:
Why did these bigwigs decide to make the viewing public pay for watching?
Are advertisements not worth it?
Did they decide more profits for their shareholders?
Those sports pay to view sports packages are expensive. The viewing public will have to decide food on the table or pay to watch a game!
