(40,639 posts)13. My understanding is that cable companies will remove Faux Noise if you insist loudly enough
... but you're still paying for it. They won't take it off your monthly cable fee. Faux Noise gets your money anyway, whether you watch or not. I had Verizon Fios for over 20 years, and I calculated that my $160 monthly fee meant I was paying Faux something like $3 per month.
What really hurts Faux Noise is the fact that so many Americans have just canceled their cable subscriptions altogether. Way fewer subscribers now than 15 or 20 years ago.
That's the impact Faux Noise has had on American television. We can't cancel them specifically, so we're cancelling the entire system. The winners are the providers like YoutubeTV, Prime, Peacock, Hulu, AppleTV, and a bunch of others.

I was in a senior center a couple of years ago and they had fox on and the seniors would get in fights

i live on the fringe of most sacramento ca tv districts and am in a bowl between 3000/ 4000 thousand ft mts.

You can probably do it through your TV settings, not the cable provider. You'll still be charged.

FOX News can't be "cancelled" by itself. If it is part of the bundle of channels you are paying

This is something that's done through your individual setup -- check your remote for options you've never used before ..
