(11,178 posts)I mean, when it comes to sexual behavior and matters of consent, I would only involve the people within the act - not the people who are outside of it. That would be a weird standard, wouldn't it? I've had friends tell me they hate someone I've been dating. Does that mean they're non-consenting adults because they don't approve of what I'm doing?
It's a weird standard to create with so many extremely odd implications. Are religious parents of a minor teenager who has sex non-consenting adults? Do you see what I mean about what a bizarre rabbit hole everyone could quickly go down? If mom's cheating on dad, are there non-consenting children?
I think a spouse - and most spouses, really - would consider it infidelity. Sure.
But I don't think consent is a question in this equation unless one of the actual parties involved in the act isn't consenting.
