what came before - carries no relevance or hint of what shall come after. A silly premise on its face. (in my opinion).

My own leanings are in the direction of - just become someone was a former sports star (to use a more innocuous example) - does not (or should not) lend any material qualification toward them being the next governor of my state. And I have to admit that I'm gravely disappointed in an electorate that is shallow enough to go for the patent medicine, shiny trinkets routine.
Lord! .. we can (and certainly need to) do better!

But - if it is your desire to elect more TV reality stars .... You are perfectly within your rights.
