... brought his own kit with him, was decorated and ended up with some dicey special ops guys who got drunk one night. They decided he was an American spy, beat, sodomized, cut parts off, and shot him, burying him under a trash heap. This was just a year or two ago.

The Russians, at least in the armed forces, are dehumanized as an intentional part of the program.
