In reply to the discussion: How often do you eat fast food? [View all]ellenfl
(8,660 posts)72. i make my own taco bell . . .
non-gmo organic shells, grassfed lowfat beef, lowfat cheese, low sodium seasoning, lettuce. one of the quickest meals to make. i also mix gf beef, fat free refried beans (can = bad. oh well), lowfat cheese, sauce, black olives, onions on whole wheat tortillas, pan fried (tortilla folded in half) in olive oil. yum!
i have been successful enough with restricting my salt that most processed or fast food (VERY seldom) that i eat now tastes really salty.
i DO eat processed low sodium boar's head turkey (from the supermarket) and an occasional subway 1/2 sub but have always been very good about NOT eating fast food. compared to what americans eat nowadays, i feel mostly virtuous. oh, and i drink a soda once a decade.

About once a week, because of traveling for kids sports and practices, but we heavily favor Subway

Maybe once a year if I'm driving a long distance. Even then I tend to pack something at home.

Most fast food chains are publicly traded so they publish their numbers for wall street.

About 3 or 4 times a year, and always from the great "fresh, local, sustainable" chain Burgerville

Typically once a week, and predominantly at "fresh Mex" places like Chipotle these days.
