The social media culture has brought out the worst of rape culture in a way, because like the kids that 'watched' at those parties, in Steubenville, these people seem to have no idea what they're saying is wrong.

It's what Sandra Fluke endured for speaking out

It's what Zerlina Maxwell endured for speaking out

It's what Anita Sarkeesian endured--- she made a video criticizing the 'damsel in distress' tropes in video games and received threats of rape and violence.

It wrong and disgusting and as much as I love the Internet for allowing diverse points of view to be expressed, it can also show the ugly side of how some think, or play follow the leader.
