66. Having grown up well into adulthood in Mexico I agree with you

It isn't that they hate Americans or Democracy or the opportunities the US has. It's the damn Hubris and military and corporate expansions which everyone knows is really the building of the American Empire. The US has deliberatly kept Mexico and South America poor and underdeveloped, backing dictators who have ravaged their countries.

The advantages of seeing the US through the eyes of other people has made me feel that first I am a world Citizen. I love the right things about this country and I see great potential in it. But I truly hate the Empire and the military might concept. I love Mexico no less, warts and all.

I think though, that the world tends to see us as the Teabag Party portrays us. Why would they see us any other way after 8 years of Bush?
