explanation clearly rather than telling the poster to delete it because a) it was fake b) it was old news c) it was conspiracy theory d) the poster has bad motivations.

the attempt to cover up truthful information (such a tweet occurred) makes people believe there's more to it than there apparently is.

i'm satisfied with the explanation from snopes; i think most people would be. the motivation of the poster could be to spread false rumors; it could just as easily be that he saw the information uncontextualized, just as it almost was here.

why spend so much venom addressing the motives of the poster when you could cut off the whole line of inquiry by posting the explanation?
