14. The problem with most of these conspiracies is they rely on "truthy" facts

which aren't actually true. But they sound like they are.

For example, the "magic bullet" in the Kennedy assassination. It's only magic if you assume the two people are sitting in the car facing front, with their hands by their sides. They weren't sitting that way. Position them as they actually were sitting, and suddenly that bullet is far more mundane. But calling the bullet magic makes for a good story, so it becomes the "truthy" fact backing the conspiracy theory.
