"The Donald" doesn't lose, even when he's already lost. Example: Trump has been impeached twice, but since he wasn't found guilty, even though there was bipartisan support to do so, he sees himself "totally vindicated" of the impeachment. Trump's ego totally erases everything that's happened up to that point, so "The Donald" sees this as a victory. Trump isn't very bright you see.
