After many warnings, the gallery started raising hands in approval of the Dem Senators who
took to the floor to speak. The presiding officer warned them about that, too.
It was an unbelievable lesson in 'sit down, shut up, sit still'.
I literally did not go because I knew I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut and would end up
arrested.
Hubby and I have discussed getting arrested in support of the Moral Mondays protests. He does
not want to risk drawing attention to ourselves as 'troublemakers'. We have plans to be out of the
country in the next year--visiting our son in Berlin--and neither of us wants to end up on a no fly list.
I do not trust these Republicans.
The Civitas Group--funded by Art Pope who is our state equivalent to a Koch brother (and was appointed Budget Director by
the Repub governor)--published the list
of everyone's names, addresses, employers, personal data who has been arrested on Moral Mondays.

The problem is that Republican women, in particular, feel that they are exceptions.
