75. So Sad - a treasure has been lost

When I first discovered DU so many, many years ago, I also discovered Helen Thomas. She became my hero in the Bush era so much that I even wrote to her once via e-mail and received a short, beautiful response from her.

I hadn't told her that I had been going through cancer at the time. Her note meant so much to me during my period of isolation and recovery. It was one of "those moments" that gave me the will and courage to fight back against the illness, so that I could join the fight against the Republicans and the damage being caused to the country I loved.

Thank you, dear Helen - You have no idea the countless lives you touched and made better just by telling the truth. We will miss you.

I am very sure you have a Front Row seat in Heaven, too. You are loved.
