If you're invested in believing that there is no such thing as racism and that it's all a scam to cause white people grief, then you HAVE to believe that Martin was guilty. Every conservative I know states as absolute fact--as if it were captured on tape in sharp focus close up for everyone to see--that Martin hid in the bushes and viciously ambushed Zimmerman.
Every thread that comes up on any other website degenerates into sputtering that Martin shouldn't have attacked Zimmerman and viciously pounded his head on the concrete if he didn't want to be killed. They absolute cannot let themselves believe that it went down any other way. Cannot even admit any doubt.
And this creeps out in other sputterings. I spoke with someone yesterday who just couldn't get over the crime of -- people posting pictures of Martin as a young teenager. It was horrible--HORRIBLE--that they were trying to manipulate HER (yes, her personally) with those pictures of Martin as a cute young boy. I tried to point out that the assumption behind this outrage is that the 17 year old Martin must "look" guilty--proving the point that guilt is assumed despite evidence to the contrary.
She just kept repeating that THEY were MANIPULATING her.
Yeah, someone was manipulating her, all right.
