Reasoning works to get things accomplished much better than the old "my way or the highway" tactic. Right now almost all of the right want to use the "my way or the highway" plan to get their way, which at the moment seems to be shutting down the whole government, not really a great idea if you ask me.

It's pretty bad when the far left want's the same kind of "my way or the highway" plan also. Nobody, and I mean nobody can get everything they want, no matter how big a fit they throw, no matter how stubborn they are, it just won't work. There are always two sides to everything, and in order to get anything done there has to be some kind of a compromise, another thing the far right is not interested in at the moment, and it seems the far left is in the same boat! As you stated when the left does this it usually gets more republicans elected, it happened in 2010, and looks like many here want it to happen again. Some posters here have already said as much. It's a shame that people can reason together and work on a way to get something done that might help, instead of sitting home on election day and yelling at the TV when they find out their state is now run by teapubllicans, and so is congress!

We all need to learn from our mistakes. 2010 was a big mistake and many states have suffered along with the entire country due to the take over of the House. To all those who say let it happen again, I say be careful of what you wish for! Once republicans gain control the whole country loses!
