Most of which resulted in very little gain (in the short term at least) for those workers.

Most people forget (or choose not to remember) what unions have done for them, because they don't belong to them and because of the bad reputation of some unions (some deserved, some not).

I don't belong either, but that's because, as a state employee, I cannot.
