That's why he was never formally nominated.

There were enough Democratic Senators who came out strongly opposing his nomination that Obama told him to withdraw from the process. They saved Obama some face.

That's the ONLY reason HE WAS NOT THE NOMINEE!!!!!

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
