"I have lived in the South before." I see that's a past-tense sentence. You lived here. You didn't settle down, put in roots, and call it Home. You were a transient.

In my experience, transients don't let go of the prejudices they bring with them from where they do call Home (no matter where that is on the continent; such prejudices happen with all people from all regions.) They then either come across as rude, or have an ingrained antagonistic attitude against us. And so, y'all end up getting exactly what you expected from those of us that do call this place down south as Home.
