12. Snowden is trying to manipulate the politicians in foreign countries now.

His "revelations" used to be about the NSA spying on American citizens. Funny how that has morphed into something else. Snowden knows that dog won't hunt now. He knows that his Russian asylum clock is ticking down, and foreign countries don't care about the NSA spying on American citizens.

Snowden's only hope now is to manipulate the populations of foreign countries on whom the NSA is spying. It's Machiavelli 101. Snowden's new angle is to portray American NSA activity as insulting to foreign countries and their leaders. Politically, the leaders have to respond in some way. Anti-American leaders will use the information to strengthen their anti-American positions. Pro-American leaders have to react with outrage and call for reform. Huge, huge damage ends up being caused to U.S. interests abroad and it's all just manipulation by Snowden in a craven attempt to keep his asylum hopes alive.

Some in this country will no doubt follow Snowden down into this cesspool. They didn't notice the gear being shifted and the wheel being turned.
