you don't really get over it. My consolation through the losses I've suffered in my life (Dad when I was young, a son, and others) is that as the years go by you're able to look at the totality of the life lost and the memories made. The first few years after the loss focuses on the death, but after a while you're able to focus on the life and not just the death. Good luck my friend!
