ON edit: you use the word ass-hole I chose jackass in reference to Donahue. I'm not really sure where your disagreement with me is?

The Catholic church has a lot of issues.

I left Catholicism behind decades ago ... however, my very large Catholic family is nothing like some characterizations of Catholics on DU. They almost all (I haven't taken an exact poll) ... but I would say my catholic family is and has been behind liberal issues for the entire time of my awareness and my parents awareness. It would be disingenuous to say that DU recognizes that in many families and large groups of Catholics this is true.

again, I apologize ... my comments re Catholics in general, were not directed to your post , they were directed to DU in general.
