17. They think about the media in terms of social values quite often and for too many exclusively.

So, since the media has been focusing more on displaying gay people as the normal individuals they are, then the media is liberal.

They also equate loose sex and drugs/alcohol with "liberalism". Whenever a movie or TV show has these elements in it, they roll their eyes as they scream about the "liberal media". Any display of hedonistic vice (to their eyes) is equated with the media being liberal and displaying liberal values. You know, "liberal Hollywood". Hollywood is liberal on social issues, but rarely on economic ones.

I am often shocked how little so many conservatives care about economic issues. In particular, educating themselves on the legislation that gets passed (and blocked) on economic issues. Many have been conditioned to rarely question or pay attention to these issues by not coveting what others have. Unfortunately, this has allowed a massive redistribution of wealth and income in this country over the past 4 decades, and they are mostly clueless as to the causes of it.

They do seem to have woken up to the reality the middle and working classes are facing now that there's a black man in the White House, but they simply don't believe this has been going on since the early to mid 1970's. They will continue blaming the black man as the American way of life continues to slip away in future Administrations (unless this country begins electing progressive people to office).

To be sure, Obama has allowed and enabled wealth redistribution to continue its upward trajectory, but so have all Presidents to a large extent going back to Nixon.
