This was over 40 years ago, I was lucky, I owe the salvation army shelter and the American tax payer for whatever I was able to accomplish. I was on welfare, section 8 housing, childcare and food stamps. I got job training which led to a job that paid for my further education. It was a lesson I have carried with me all these years, I lived the story of how government can work to improve the lives of it's citizens and make all the difference in the world, to the person and the society we live in.
