(10,942 posts)In the real world, Single Payer won't happen on a national level. No President would ever again stake his or her Presidency on getting even the most pale health care lawpassed into law. Why should that future President take the magnitude of the political risk give that haters will rip him or her and people that President should be able to count on go ass crazy in joining the haters, hence enforcing the haters. One of the most disheartening signs that I saw in the news today was a dumbassed teabagger holding up a sign that said 72% of americans oppose the health care law. Criers for Single Payer can claim until they are blue in the face that polls lie, but there is no fucking straddling a line on the health care law, you either approve it and are set to make it better during the near future, or you oppose it and don't want americans to have affordable health care.
