117. I have to say this:

I don't like those terms like Uncle Tom and others for a simple reason: most of them define a betrayer of a race. I think the concept of race is dangerous bullshit, that distracts from the actual issues of opportunity, discrimination, wealth disparity, and so on.

Clarence Thomas' sociopathic behavior and professional indifference has damaged far more than "his people" (who were a couple of thousand very insular and isolated folks who spoke a different language and who were totally distinct from the culture modern Americans define as "African American&quot .

Clarence Thomas is a betrayer of all people.

The racially loaded terms don't apply well to him and do not properly define the scope and scale of his corruption. He's something far worse than an Uncle Tom: he is a corrupt public official.
