In reply to the discussion: Barney Frank thinks Warren will run for president [View all]unblock

don't get me wrong, i loves me some barney frank. not only are his politics usually spot on, but he's got an actual backbone and has delivered more than a few well-deserved zingers. i love hearing him speak, and even more so, argue. he would have made an awesome speaker or even president and it's a damn shame we're not set up to enable someone like that to get there.
but the current power structure is such that people like that are lucky to even have as much power as someone like barney frank, while undeserving idiot *ssholes like rand paul or paul ryan get talked about as presidential material.
that's the "environment" i mean.

I love Barney, but he and EW thought Deval would put Barney in John Kerry's seat as a placeholder.
