Nothing to say that a right-winger can't be a whistleblower; indeed someone who is involved in security or surveillance work in the first place, and therefore in a position to blow the whistle on such issues (this as such refers to Snowden rather than Greenwald, but obviously Greenwald is a strong supporter of Snowden) is probably more likely to be RW than LW. It is possible to support their whistle-blowing, without thinking that they have the right views on everything, or that they should be supported if they stand for office.
And if you check my posts - I have been warning of the dangers of Paul-type right-libertarianism, and progressive alliances with right-libertarians, since at least 2007. This still does not affect my view of whistle-blowing.
