(11,303 posts)The biggest thing that pisses me off about right wing freaks *(and THAT is a loooooooooooooong list to begin with...)* is the over-the-top hatred of the poor and the need to lord it over them like some sick caricature of a Dickens school marm.
I simply do not understand the mindset or the need to rip apart someone who has little to nothing just because you may discover they have anything at all.
The story of the boy who actually worked and saved the money to buy a present for his brother only to be attacked by the bloviating asshat neighbor breaks my heart. I wish that particular neighbor received a karmic payback of some kind...but then again, to live with that depth of hatred in your heart is in many ways its own punishment.
A life spent chasing things and trinkets and possessions and incessantly worrying about the possessions of others is a disgusting waste of resources and pathetic when you realize that we all die in the end, and everything we "own" is returned to the pot when we are forced to give up our seat at this grand poker game of life. Learning to enjoy the journey and the value of helping others along the way, and KNOWING that this is utterly lost on them gives me a measure of comfort at the last.
