I remember something he said many years ago......a reporter asked him if it was appropriate for him to be sponsored by a liquor company, because his son, a longtime alcoholic, had hanged himself.....Willie said, "Alcohol didn't kill my son, an addiction did.......his addiction just happened to be alcohol." He was so right. 
I also think "You Were Always On My Mind is the greatest love song ever
