(4,252 posts)I am sorry for your loss. I know how you feel.
I am still grieving... When ones has a child die on them the anger never leaves.. My son died from the same kind of brain tumour as Ted Kennedy. He was never ever sick and one day had seizures . 3 days later he was getting brain surgery. that was in April 1998. He got every treatment that could be given, operations, chemos, radiation... very much the same treatment as Ted Kennedy. Glioblastma Multiforme brain tumour kills most who have it in less than 2 years.. But in Canada we have health care for all. My son got whatever needed and was denied no treatment.
I feel for you. I think ACA has helped many. I don't think it is good as what we have up here but it is better than nothing.
My teabagger American relative hates Obama because he is black... this relative works for the MIC..
Here is what my relative wrote recently
I was raised in this country by a Marine and was taught to love my nation and respect the foundations that our country was built upon. I have a 4 year old and a 7 year old that stand during the National Anthem when a Yankee game is on TV. I am doing my best to teach them to honor the country but in light of the current administration, these lessons are becoming increasingly difficult. I have always supported the President of the United States regardless of party line but I expect our Commander in Chief to act in the best interest of each and every citizen. Throughout the past few years, I have moved from questioning President Obama's actions to downright disagreeing with most of those actions.
I hold the Constitution of the United States to the utmost importance and feel it has been neglected in several decisions the President has made. I would actually say with confidence that President Obama has completely and knowingly ignored the Constitution in his methods to push his agenda past (and circumventing) Congress.
Let me first start with the Affordable Health Care Act, which I feel is a monopoly and unconstitutional in itself. How can the Government force an open market to purchase something they do not want to? Further, the entire billion dollar piece of legislation was passed at the convenience of this administration. Once this President bulldozed this bill into action, he decides to delay it at his own discretion. Who is any president to decide which law can or will be implemented and enforced? If the law does not benefit the current administration, Executive Power was erroneously used to delay Obamacare. It seems any legislation can be implemented or ignored on the whim of the presidency.
I know that impeachment is extreme but so are the recent offenses of this administration. People of this country have died and will continue to die unless something changes. While impeachments seems severe, the impeachable offenses seem to be those that I have just described above. Congress issued Articles of Impeachment for acts in three general categories:
Exceeding the constitutional bounds of the powers of the office.
Behavior grossly incompatible with the proper function and purpose of the office.
Employing the power of the office for an improper purpose or for personal gain.
